    Short CV:

Hendrik Striepe is a PhD candidate at the Media Informatics Group led by Prof. Dr. Birgit Lugrin. He received a M.Sc. in Computer Science in 2016 from the University of Würzburg with a thesis written under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Marc Erich Latoschik and Martin Fischbach entitled “Enhancement of a collaborative mixed-reality tabletop-platform and integration of a social robot.” He completed a B.Sc. in Computer Science in 2011, also from the University of Würzburg, with the bachelor thesis “Interval arithmetic in D [programming language].”

Between 2011 and 2012 he co-founded a startup, developing new billing methods for tradesmen. From 2010 to 2011 and 2012 to 2015 he worked as a freelance web developer on various projects.

    Research topics:

    • Human-Robot-Interaction
    • Social Robotics
    • Artificial Intelligence
    • Interactive Storytelling
    • Mixed-Reality

Hendrik’s research concerns the lifelike animation of artificial characters, be they robots or virtual agents. He wants to know what is behind natural interaction between aforementioned agents and humans, and how such interaction can be generated or even understood by a machine. He is particular interested in the transition of robotics from the lab experiments to home appliances. Robots are great!

    Teaching:

Hendrik has been teaching and tutoring in the MI group since 2015. Teaching includes:

    • Tutorials for Media Informatics 1 and 2
    • Multimedia Applications Seminar
    • Thesis B.Sc.
